Arrived late after the morning footy at high tide and had to search for a car parking space as so many windsurfers had turned up. someone counted a total of 17!!
Hadnt sailed for over a week after gashing my head the week before and had stitches so wasn't alloweed to get wet, the past weeks been really frustrating not bweing able to go out with all that wind!
Everyone was on sails ranging from 4. 5 - 5. 5 so rigged the 4.7. Got onto the water and the board was bouncing all oveer the place with the rough conditions. Once I'd fallen in, tried to uphaul it which was a nightmare so decided to give water starts a go. Kept practising and practising and managed 2 in total over the space of an hour which felt brilliant for a virgin waterstarter. Musta spent more than half the session in the water trynna sort my water starts out with the help of Phil telling me how its done.
The setup of the board didn't feel great throughout, think I had my boom to low as I kept coming out of the harness lines so my arms feel as though they got lead weights on at the moment. Once I was in the footstraps, the board was all over the place once on the plane with the little jumps and the front just kept taking off after every little jump. Once Ive m,astered my water starts, should be able to manage a shorter board which will be easier to manage in the rough conditions as the astro rock was all over the place.
Good session so easily worth 4 stars
